the other day, earth day to be exact, was my dear friend emily's birthday! emily is very special to me and means a whole lot, so i wanted to contribute to her birthday in some way.
emily's long time friend (and my friend from college), clemmie planned an awesome night complete with a sam cade cake, jams, treats and laughter (wow, that sentence was cheesy, but it was a really fun night).
the party took place in clemmie's house--where i'll be living next year. the house is a TOTAL DREAM. i cannot wait to move in. it's going to be a blast living there with caroline, sarah and katie.
clemmie put me in charge of decorations which i loved doing. emily and i have similar taste and appreciation for similar things. she's my friend i can always count on to take photos with or do unusual art related things. OH and she's in the texas creative track of UT advertising so girl's got T A L E N T.
i made this frill garland and then used metallic papel picado. i also covered the kitchen table in craft paper so everyone could write what they loved about lahouie! (lahouie is one of emily's nicknames based off of her last name)
i posted a quick video to instagram and added it below!
i'm so lucky i get to be friends with emily. she always listens to me and gives me wisdom no matter how silly my complaints are, she makes me laugh... hard, she has incredible taste, she's a creative inspiration to me, and she's really and truly loved by everyone. i'm glad she's introduced me to so many wonderful people and can't wait to see the future of our friendship!
oh fun fact, my parents and emily's dad went to high school together & her grandparents were friends with mine; however, we didn't really become friends/know each other until we were randomly placed in the same small group at younglife spring break last year! isn't that bizarre?!
